God’s Temple

I was just recently at a sleepover with my Soul Sisters (aka Lauren and Kaiti). The theme was God’s temple and we did a Bible study on keeping our bodies pure for Him. 1 Timothy 2:9 & 10 says, ‘I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.’ In light of this, what are you wearing, inside and out? Is it good and pleasing to God?

One of the main things that we talked about was not drawling attention to yourself, mainly in the things that you wear, but also in the way that you act. When we are constantly trying to soak in all of the spot light, there is no room, at all, for God to be there, shining His glory and power. In all actuality, we have nothing to display of ourselves. Nothing. The only thing that we have to display that is beautiful is Christ Jesus and all of His glory. We possess no really beauty at all, except when we cloth ourselves with good deeds, and with Him.

Is what you are wearing good, pleasing, and reflecting off God, so that everyone sees Him? Or does what you do only draw attention to yourself?

  1. I liked the way you addressed modesty. It didn’t sound prudish or old ladyish, if you know what i mean. Also, it does my heart good to hear that girls your age are discussing these kind of things and wanting to give and do all for the glory of God!!! You go, girls, and keep Jesus as your first love!!!! I’m proud of all of you!

  2. hahaha!!!! yah i do think that we are pretty awesome!!!LOL!!

and tears to my eyes!! i know that that we have been shown by God how
beautiful we really are and that we should do all of our acts for the glory of God!!
    In all prayers,
    Lauren (Bobbi)
